About ERC

The ERC process, “the “Electrochemical Reduction of Carbon Dioxide”, combines captured carbon dioxide with water to produce high value materials, such as formic acid and formate salts, which are conventionally obtained from the thermochemical processing of Fossil Fuels. However, ERC has an advantage over the established thermochemical methods for converting carbon dioxide to liquid fuels.

While thermochemical reactions must be driven at relatively high temperatures that are normally obtained by burning fossil fuels, ERC operates at near ambient conditions and is driven by electric energy that can be taken from an electric power grid supplied by hydro, wind, solar or nuclear energy (forms of renewable energy).

About Mantra:

Mantra, through its group of sustainable energy, carbon reduction and consumer product subsidiaries, is active in the green technology marketplace with an innovative, multi-faceted approach focused on profitability through sustainability. By aggressively seeking out new technologies and innovating solutions for a cleaner earth for everyone, Mantra intends to provide a highly profitable and environmentally responsible investment for its shareholders.

Mantra's recent developments have resulted in many governments and leading industrial companies taking an interest in ERC. Mantra is currently in discussions regarding various grants and other support initiatives offered by international governments, as well as possible pilot projects with large industrial companies.

Mantra is a public company quoted on the OTC BB under the symbol MVTG and on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange under the symbol 5MV.

Mantra Discovers a New Cathode Catalyst Structure that Increases Current Efficiency for CO2 Recycling Technology PDF Print E-mail

SEATTLE, July 28 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - Mantra is pleased to announce that it has observed an increase in current efficiency in its Electroreduction of Carbon Dioxide (ERC) technology through the use of a new proprietary electrode catalyst structure. This is just the first of a series of improvements expected by Mantra as they progress through a series of development trials.

John Russell, Mantra's Vice President, Technology Evaluation, comments: 'As a part of our latest development initiative, we replaced the tin granular catalyst previously used in the ERC reactor with a proprietary electrode catalyst structure. The initial results from the new catalyst were exemplary. While operating under similar conditions, the ERC reactor reached a current efficiency of 89.66% with the new cathode structure compared to the 46.24% efficiency achieved with the tin granular catalyst. In the coming weeks and months we will be working to achieve even greater efficiency levels and to ensure long-term sustainability of the cathode materials.'

Larry Kristof, President and CEO, added: 'These initial results are very encouraging, and we are quite pleased with the advancements made by our partners at Kemetco Research to date. Such an increase in the unit's efficiency will lead to a considerable decrease in overall power consumption- drastically improving the technology's economic feasibility. This is a significant milestone for the technology, and we look forward to further progression of ERC as we continue this series of development trials.'

Mantra will be posting regular updates on the aforementioned program as well as other development initiatives as the company moves closer to a fully optimized, commercial scale ERC design.
