Job Location: Vancouver, BC
 
The role of the position of Assistant Controller is to prepare financial reports and consolidation of past records under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer. This part-time position also assists in the development and maintenance of financial controls and control documentation in support of accuracy and integrity of financial information.
 
 
Duties and responsibilities:
  • completion of daily, monthly, annual accounting duties up to unconsolidated reports
  • data entry and report creation in Quickbooks for multiple companies
  • maintenance and upkeep of corporate records
  • consolidation of past expenses and records
  • routine daily accounting operations
  • coordinate periodic review and verification of fixed assets in accordance with corporate guidelines
  • assist CFO in ensuring that necessary controls are in place to maintain the integrity and accuracy of financial information
  • coordinate, maintain and prepare process documentation, as required
  • ad-hoc financial reporting and analysis, as required by corporate management
 
Requirements:
  • 2 or more years professional accounting experience
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting is a definite plus
  • proven hands-on experience is required
  • expertise in Quickbooks is required
  • self directed and motivated
  • strong communication skills required
 
Note: The successful candidate will be a person who has several years of direct, relevant experience, requires minimal supervision, possesses strong interpersonal skills, and is able to function effectively in a challenging, high-pressure environment.
